Engineer, Businesswoman, Mother.
Before I jumped into the world of technical sales I was an engineer with IBM. Today, I am a Sales Specialist for EMC Corporation focusing on our core technologies around data and data management. I have spent the last 10 years in IT either designing or selling today’s data storage demands, working with companies from 10 employees to 10,000+.
What I have learned in these 10 years is that we are at a turning point of technology, and more specifically HOW we utilize and store that data.
When I started at IBM straight out of college only ¼ of my friends were on Facebook and none of my older family members would have even thought about sharing their personal information on the “interwebs”. My mother was still doing all of her shopping in person, and my Dad was struggling to figure out how to text with his fancy Motorola flip phone.
Now, it seems we are unable to pass a day without complete and utter access to data. Whether we are trying to connect through social outlets, send baby gifts without having to trek downtown or video chat with our friends and family through our smart phones! In the past ten years, I have seen my industry completely re-vamp itself.
I wanted to start this blog as a way to talk about how technology and the proliferation of data is changing our world and some of the competitors who are out there.
